Quickly opening and closing the valve at the bottom of the boiler (" intermittent blowdown ") can effectively remove this dirt.
This way of blowing down the valve requirements are very high, the product must be strong and reliable.
The GESTRA bottom drain valve can be opened quickly and only for two seconds to create a vacuum at the bottom of the boiler.
The resulting suction discharges the deposited pan dirt (called scale) from the bottom of the boiler.
The valve is then closed without any leakage.
Leaving the valve open for more than two seconds does not increase blowdown capacity; it wastes water.
